What Features to Look for in a Cell Phone

Today's cell phones come in a vast variety of shapes, sizes and colors, along with features to suit everyone's needs. Deciding which features are right for you can be overwhelming. For example, are you looking for a cell phone small enough to fit in your shirt pocket or evening bag, or one that is filled with enough technology to act as a phone, pager and fax?

How long do you want to be able to talk without having to recharge your phone's battery -- a few days or a few weeks?A few features come standard on cell phones. Most are sold with voicemail, last-number redial, speed dial, name storage, call-time indicator and security features already installed.

Other common features that you might want, but will pay more for, include call waiting and call forwarding. Now this is where I make people hate me. In the USA our cell phone are very out dated when place next to cell phones from Europe and Asia. Internet and Wifi is one of the big things that stand out when looking at our phones.

The truth: USA cell phone company's will suffer a great lose if those phones worked in the USA.So, when looking for your next cell phone here are a few " suggestions " for the type of " features " you want on your phone.

#1. Internet: With Internet you can run programs like Skype.
#2. Wifi : With wi fi you can connect to the Internet from your home router or a free wi fi hotspot.

Voip is a huge business and most cell phones in the USA cant Handel the proxy. Think for a moment how much money you would save if you could make Voip calls from your cell phone.

Look around and think about the features you would like to use on the daily bases. One last thing, "Smart phones" have not been very smart, most come without wi fi and descent Internet.Look for a phone that can grow with you, think about memory for photos, music and more.

Micro Bluetooth USB Dongle

The mini dongle is a tiny device that plugs into any standard USB port. Unlike most USB drives and Bluetooth add-ons, which stick out from a laptop as much as a human finger would, the Dapter protrudes less than the length of a fingernail.

The ease with which the mini-gizmo adds Bluetooth support to laptop computers makes it a welcome entry into the market. The device's maker -- Newton Peripherals of Natick, Mass. -- quotes figures from IMS Research and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group suggesting that as many as 250 million laptops that lack Bluetooth capabilities are in use today.

The Dapter, however, may be even more compelling when used with tablets -- portable computers that are designed to be held in one hand while operated with the other.

A 3-inch Bluetooth adapter sticking out the side of a sleek tablet would seem ludicrous and might even be dangerous. (I can hear my mother saying, "You could poke someone's eye out with that thing!") The tiny Dapter, by comparison, would hardly be noticed when plugged into the USB port of even the most svelte tablets.

VoIP Bluetooth Internet Phone

The Kensington Vo200 Bluetooth Internet Phone is a neat little device that fits and charges in the PCMIA slot of your laptop. It can be used to make calls over VoIP services like Skype, MSN and Google Talk. The phone has three hours of talk time and 30 hours of standby time, and also blinks when you have 10 minutes of talk time left. The fold-out design is particularly cool. Unfortunately, the product page says it only works with Windows XP.
